Established in 1959, the educational and representational Highland Village brings together historic and replica structures, carefully curated collections and artifacts, entertaining activities and tales, while costumed animators passionate about sharing local culture, compellingly tell the story of Gaelic settlement in Nova Scotia. The Fortress of Louisbourg was originally settled in 1713. Between 1720 and 1740, defensive walls were constructed around what was then a thriving fishing town. The fort became known as the &ldquo;Gibraltar of the North&rdquo; and the &ldquo;Dunkirk of America,&rdquo; both fitting nicknames for a formidable protector against British ships entering the Saint Lawrence River.&nbsp; In the 1960s, a reconstruction of one-quarter of the fortified town was undertaken, restoring it to its original appearance using French masonry techniques and even original stones. The result is Canada&rsquo;s most ambitious attempt to recall the past relationship between France and the American colonies.&nbsp; Your visit to this living museum will be conducted in two parts, beginning with a guided walk among the restored buildings. You will be split up into smaller groups of 12, and making sure that each group will have the opportunity to participate in this private 30-mins experience. This includes an introduction to the Bell collection and the basics of museum conservation and invited to scrutinize a selection of Bell artifacts. At this museum, discover and learn about the many outstanding accomplishments of the man best known for the invention of the telephone. Bell made remarkable contributions in the fields of medicine, genetics, electricity, sound, and speech, as well as aeronautics and marine engineering. The museum itself is architecturally striking, as its design is based on the tetrahedron form Bell used for his flight test kites. Travel to beautiful Baddeck and learn all about the Scottish-born inventor, scientist and engineer who is credited with patenting the first practical telephone. Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site is a 10-hectare property in Baddeck, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, overlooking the Bras d&#39;Or Lakes. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Cape Breton is world renown for reviving, preserving, and promoting Celtic music and is considered the international center of this lively and celebratory style of music, dancing and storytelling. Cape Breton is also known for the unique style of playing the fiddle. To see and hear this unique music, look no further than the Marine Terminal&#39;s landmark giant fiddle across from your ship. Complete with bow and strings, the fiddle was forged out of solid steel, weighs 10 tons, and measures 54 feet high over 14 feet wide. After meeting at the giant fiddle, you will be piped into the Kavanaugh Room for a personal performance. Enjoy a traditional musical experience unique to Cape Breton Island. The insland&rsquo;s music is influenced by Scottish, Irish and Acadian traditions, and this program gives you full immersion into the heritage with a fiddler, a singer and a Celtic dancer. Start your day at the full practice facility with a 330 yard driving range with target greens and two short game areas with a green side bunker.&nbsp; The golf course has played host to a Canadian Junior Championship and numerous Nova Scotia Provincial championships including the Nova Scotia Amateur Championship in 2008 and the Nova Scotia Senior Men&rsquo;s Four Ball Championship. Charlottetown, the capital of Prince Edward Island, is a captivating blend of history, architecture, landscapes, and wildlife. The result is an unmissable serene masterpiece of nature . Beyond Despite holding a pivotal place in Canada&#39;s history as the `Birthplace of Confederation,` Charlottetown is not just about historic charm. Venture beyond the shore and embrace a world of wildlife wonders. Coastal habitats come alive with seabirds, seals, and marine life, including whales, seals and dolphins. The island&#39;s red sand beaches, characteristic of its iron-rich soil, are a unique and picturesque sight. If you feel a sense of déjà vu here then don&#39;t be surprised; the island is forever linked to the world of `Anne of Green Gables,` the iconic novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery. Visitors can explore Green Gables Heritage Place and immerse themselves in the fictional world of Anne Shirley.

This delightful half-day panoramic drive boasts the unique opportunity of exploring impressive landmarks in two distinctly different Canadian provinces. Travel along the southern shoreline of Prince Edward Island, Canada&rsquo;s smallest and greenest province. A short stop will be made to view the exterior of the Port Borden Range Front Lighthouse and to admire the expansive views of the Confederation Bridge. This bridge links Prince Edward Island to mainland Canada and the province of New Brunswick. Opened in 1997, is it 8 miles long which makes it the longest crossing over icy waters in the world. The lovely views will have your camera working overtime.&nbsp; You will travel across this engineering wonder and arrive in the province of New Brunswick, and the Cape Jourimain Nature Centre. As you journey across the bridge, high above the strait below, notice that the bridge is curved to keep drivers alert while driving across. If you choose, climb to the top of the look-out tower and marvel at the breathtaking views of the bridge as it fades away on the horizon and the huge bridge supports that were constructed to deflect icebergs. Your guided tour will start with a stop at Le Site d&rsquo;Autrefois, to discover fishermen&#39;s traditional lifestyle. Claude Bourgeois is a former captain who started fishing at the age of 15 years old with his father on a lobster boat, learn about his passion of fishing true history and demonstration of making of nets, fishing traps and the evolution of the fisheries since the Acadian settled on these. Enjoy some free time walking through his village and get inside different building located on the site. Next, you&#39;ll make your way to the historical site of la Grave located on the southwest part of Havre Aubert Islands. &nbsp;La Grave was the site of the Islands&#39; first settlement as well as the beginning of the archipelago&#39;s fishery. The beach was a favorite spot for fishing and commerce and still maintains its maritime flavour.&nbsp; After, you&#39;ll travel to Atelier Cotier a one-of-a-kind studio where sand from the Islands is transformed into unique sculptures, sand treasures to forever remind visitors of the beauty of this site. Atelier Cotier was the founder of the Iles de la Madeleine sandcastle contest that being held every year in August since 1985. &nbsp;Our final stop will be at the Borgot lighthouse which offer striking view of cliffs sculptured by the sea.
