Al Ain, located in the eastern part of Abu Dhabi, is situated in an opulent terrain dotted with abundant groundwater springs. In the past, the oasis town used to be a necessary stop-over on the caravan trail from the United Arab Emirates to the Sultanate of Oman and vice versa.&nbsp; A refreshment stop will be provided midway at a local petrol station. Hereafter, visit the Al Jahli Fort. The picturesque Al Jahili Fort is one of the UAE&rsquo;s most historic buildings. It was erected in 1891 to defend the city and protect precious palm groves. The former headquarters of the Oman Trucial Scouts, the force that protected the mountain passes and kept inter-tribal peace, it also served as a residence for the local governor. It is set in beautifully landscaped garden.&nbsp; Proceed to Danat Al Ain Hotel for lunch and thereafter head to Sheikh Palace Museum. The museum is based in the palace of the former UAE President, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and his family, the museum includes an art gallery. Many of the rooms are majlis or meeting rooms for receiving visitors. In one of the courts there is a replica grand court tent, representing a link with Bedouin life. Your visit would not be complete until you take a step into the past and take a walk through the truly enchanting oasis which is set among palm trees. You will have an opportunity to see an excellent example of &lsquo;falaj&rsquo;, the ancient irrigation system. &nbsp;

The middle of the desert lies Al-Ain, an idyllic place. Discover the features such as the Al Jahli Fort, Camel Market, birthplace of Sheikh Khalifa and falalj canals that make this special place flourish. &nbsp;

Located on a sun-kissed island off the coast of Abu Dhabi, Al Maya Island is a destination for lavish living. You will soon reach the ruins of Ubar, referred to in classical works as the Atlantis of the Sands, where you can see some of the excavations currently underway. It&#39;s believed that the city existed from about 2800 BC to 300 AD. Situated at the crossroads of various transport routes, Ubar was an important trading post in ancient Arabia.&nbsp; Suddenly, however, the city disappeared. Tangible evidence of its existence remained elusive until the 1990s when NASA&#39;s remote sensing equipment revealed caravan tracks converging on a single spot in the desert. Excavation began in earnest; efforts rewarded by discoveries of pottery, frankincense burners, and remains of a fortress. Underneath the fortress is a giant limestone cavern, whose roof may have collapsed, possibly explaining the sudden destruction of this once thriving city.&nbsp; Contemplate the theory of Ubar&#39;s demise over a local packed lunch.
