New York City - New York City

5 countries
10 ports
Our journey begins with an overnight stay in Fuerte Amador, offering plenty of time to explore nearby Panama City and, of course, buy a Panama hat. Then we’ll slip along the Panama Canal, one of the great man-made wonders of the world. Emerging in the Caribbean Sea, we make for Cartagena, on the coast of Colombia, with a beautiful Old Town that is listed by UNESCO, and then a day at sea takes us to Jamaica. First, we visit Port Antonio, once the hangout of stars from the golden age of Hollywood, such as Errol Flynn, and then Montego Bay, where rum punch on the beach is a must. Next comes Georgetown on Grand Cayman, for encounters with stingrays and blue iguanas, before another sea day carries us to the U.S. We make landfall at Miami and then hop our way around the coast, calling at Port Canaveral, Norfolk in Virginia, and glittering New York City, our final destination.

Fuerte Amador, Panama picture
Fuerte Amador, the gateway port to Panama City, seamlessly merges history and culture while captivating the hearts of travelers the world over. Once a defensive complex guarding the Panama Canal's entrance, it now offers a portal to Panama's past and present. The nearby Miraflores Locks Visitor Center narrates the engineering marvel of the Panama Canal, reflecting the nation's global significance, while the strategic location also provides access to the UNESCO-listed Casco Viejo district. The capital city seamlessly intertwines past and present, inviting travelers to unravel its history while embracing the vigor of contemporary life—a cultural tapestry that lures explorers seeking both intellectual and sensory fulfillment. Amid the urban landscape, verdant parks and waterfront promenades provide pockets of tranquility.

Port Antonio, Jamaica picture
Errol Flynn called this place home in the 1950s, Tom Cruise muddled spirits here in the romantic comedy Cocktail in 1988, and Daniel Craig called by in a rare carefree moment as James Bond in No Time To Die in 2021. No wonder. This wild corner of Jamaica is framed by the beautiful Blue Mountains and its golden shores are lapped by the turquoise Caribbean. This is the gateway to the Blue Lagoon, and there are few finer sands than at Frenchman's Cove. And kicking back with a rum punch at Geejam – a hotel with its own recording studio – listening to the house band, the famous Jolly Boys, play their mento melodies, well that's the stuff of serious memories. Beyond the beach, go rafting on the Rio Grande River, hike in the rainforest, take a refreshing dip at Reach Falls, and learn about the Maroons at Moore Town, the fugitive slaves who escaped to form their own settlements in these hills.
