Old Québec by Foot

The journey begins along Avenue Royale toward Montmorency Falls. Enjoy the panorama from atop this 272-foot-high waterfall, approximately 90 feet higher than Niagara Falls. Created in 1970, the park&rsquo;s shores and mountain tops boast some of the most breathtaking scenery in all of Eastern Canada. Its boreal forest is home to diverse wildlife that can be easily observed. The park&rsquo;s steep cliffs welcome thousands of seabirds and its shores harbor colonies of seals. Probably the most impressive (and popular) lookout point in all of Forillon National Park, the Cap Bon-Ami Sea Cliffs are quite simply breathtaking to behold. With walls reaching heights of up to approximately 650 feet above sea level, these limestone cliffs rise up as veritable fortresses from the gulf waters. Enjoy front-row seating at the cliff-and-seaside show starring seabirds, whales, and seals. Take time to admire the beauty of the scenery and take in the serenity of this grandiose setting. Cap-des-Rosiers Lighthouse, the tallest in Canada, standing at approximately 112 feet tall is perched atop rugged cliffs near the village of Cap-des-Rosiers. It was officially lit for the first time on March 15, 1858. The exposed point of land is at the mouth of the St. Lawrence River where it enters the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Its light remains a landmark for inshore fishermen and recreational boaters, as well as for foreign ships looking for the entrance to the St. Lawrence River. Discover the traditional way of life of the Mi&rsquo;gmaq and their ancestors in a 17th century village. In this exceptional setting, techniques of days gone by have been authentically reproduced to give you an appreciation of Mi&rsquo;gmaq methods and know-how. At the end of the 17th century, their ancestors who lived in close harmony with nature, produced food, clothing, and essential items from available natural resources. Learn all about the culture of the Gespeg Mi&rsquo;gmaq of today and yesterday with the help of Mi&rsquo;gmaq guides and interpreters, a handicraft workshop, and gift shop. Discover Forillon National Park & Mi&#39;gmaq First Nations

From the pier in Gasp&eacute;, a 1-hour drive will take you to Perc&eacute; to join your boat transport for a 1&frac12; hour cruise around Bonaventure Island to see its gannet colony, the largest accessible northern gannet colony in the world. The Parc National de l&#39;Ile-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Perce is an enchanting site. Sculpted by time and the sea at the tip of the Gasp&eacute; Peninsula, its remarkable flora and fauna, including its world-renowned northern gannet colony, contribute to the park&#39;s reputation as a must-see destination. This rocky bastion is actually an extension of the Appalachian Mountains into the waters of the Gulf of the St. Bonaventure Island is home to a spectacular congregation of approximately 300,000 sea birds, including razorbills, gulls, murres, and puffins.&nbsp; Perc&eacute; Rock, one of the world&rsquo;s largest and most spectacular natural arches, is proud testament to Gasp&eacute;&rsquo;s geological heritage. An unshakeable mass of rock and limestone 375 million years old, it measures approximately 1,420 feet in length, 295 feet wide, and 288 feet at its highest point. Its weight is estimated at five million tons. The arch itself is approximately 49 feet high. The Rock is a nesting place for cormorants, kittiwakes, and seagulls. Your boat trip will take you to both sides of the Perc&eacute; Rock and the highpoint is the sight of the thousands of nesting birds. After your cruise, return to Perc&eacute; for photos and souvenir shopping before returning to Gasp&eacute;.

Heart of the Island

Cape Breton is world renown for reviving, preserving, and promoting Celtic music and is considered the international center of this lively and celebratory style of music, dancing and storytelling. Cape Breton is also known for the unique style of playing the fiddle. To see and hear this unique music, look no further than the Marine Terminal&#39;s landmark giant fiddle across from your ship. Complete with bow and strings, the fiddle was forged out of solid steel, weighs 10 tons, and measures 54 feet high over 14 feet wide. After meeting at the giant fiddle, you will be piped into the Kavanaugh Room for a personal performance. Enjoy a traditional musical experience unique to Cape Breton Island.
