Summertime and the living is easy on this laid-back sailing down the coast from Canada to the southernmost tip of California. Leaving cosmopolitan Vancouver behind, we have one more Canadian city to discover before heading for U.S. waters. Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, is known as the garden city for its abundant parkland and dazzling floral displays, making for a pleasant day soaking up the laid-back atmosphere, attractive settings and outdoorsy vibe. Then it’s on to Astoria, Oregon, a historic city (the oldest west of the Rockies) with a charming forest setting on the Columbia River that has been captured in many a Hollywood movie. After a day at sea enjoying all the comforts onboard, we sail into San Francisco, to be greeted by the beautiful panorama of the Golden Gate Bridge arching over the glittering bay. Then a sea day takes us to chic Santa Catalina Island for cocktails overlooking the ocean, before our voyage ends in San Diego.
